1. Wildlife photography isn’t done with a Kodak Instamatic
    Try photographing them without enough lens and they'll be little dots in your pictures. It's OK to take a few 'insurance' shots from farther away when you first spot an animal. To capture expression and behavior, you're going to have to get close.

    1. Always remember: “It’s about the behavior, genius!” Unless the light's great and behavior's unusual, the picture's pretty boring.
    2. Patience - get close enough to need extension rings – especially with that big telephoto. But don’t disturb their normal activity.
    3. Be wary – Bison and elk shouldn’t be approached too closely during their rutting season (June for bison, September-October for elk and moose). Grizzlies shouldn’t be approached closely anytime. You're safer with coast grizzlies feeding during salmon runs. Just listen to your guide and STAY AWAY!
